CATHARINE TROTTER Died at her home, 1011 Eighth avenue, at 12:05 this afternoon, (October 2) after a short illness caused by the weight of years and a gradual dissolution of her earthly tabernacle. Mrs. Trotter was born in Lancaster, Pa., Jun 12, 1812. In 1829 she married Mr. Frederick Fick, of Lancaster, and soon after moved to Plane No. 2, now known as Portage, Cambria county, Pa. Mr. Fick died in 1847. The deceased was married to Mr. Robert Trotter at Portage in 1853. He died in 1877. Thirty-six years ago they moved to this city, Mr. Trotter procuring a situation in the shops, where he remained until his death. Mrs. Trotter was the mother of fourteen children, only four of whom survive her, as follows: Mrs. Henry C. Fick, Elizabeth C. Fick, Mrs. Harry Slep and Mrs. Robert F. Bankert. She was also the grandmother of forty-four children and the great-grandmother of thirty-three children, and the great-great-grandmother of a little girl. Her circle of relatives and friends in this city and Lancaster county was very large. Funeral on Wednesday at 2 p.m., services to be conducted at the house by Rev. Henry Howard Stiles, her pastor; interment in Fairview cemetery. Altoona Mirror, Monday, October 2, 1899, page 8
