Trout, a prominent citizen of Altoona, died on Saturday. The deceased was a son of Joseph Trout and was born in Bedford county on July 2, 1837. He was a resident of Altoona since 1861. For many years he was an employee of the Pennsylvania Railroad company. He entered its service as a fireman and for three years served in that capacity. He was made an engineer and filled that position for twenty years, at the end of which time he was forced to resign, on account of his eyesight becoming impaired, and a year later he became practically blind, the optic nerves becoming paralyzed. Since then he was unable to see. Mr. Trout was married in Altoona on April 18, 1861, to Miss Sarah McMahon, who, with an adopted daughter, Mrs. W. H. Cover, and a brother, Joseph G.
