TROUT Of the Sunset apartments, Broad avenue, who conducted an insurance office in the city for thirty years and was prominently identified with the insurance business in the state, died at his home at 5.45 o'clock yesterday afternoon after an extended illness. Mr. Trout was a member of the Blair County Historical society and took an active interest in civic and educational work in the city. He was born at Sabbath Rest, Antis township, on April 25, 1857, a son of Thomas G. and Mary (Smith) Trout, and was educated at the Bellwood academy. His parents were among the pioneer settlers of the Antis township district. Mr. Trout had served as president of the Fire Underwriters Association of Pennsylvania, was a member of the Smoke and Cinder club of Pittsburgh and a member of the Knights of Pythias for more than a half-century. His wife, Mrs. Virginia (Neall) Trout, died seven years ago, and Mr. Trout was the last member of his immediate family. Surviving are two sons and three daughters, Mrs. John D. Hogue and Mrs. John G. Shaffer of the city, Mrs. Margaret Waterbury of New Rochelle, N.Y., Neall H. Trout of Millersburg and Thomas J. Trout, jr., of Harrisburg, and eleven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Lafferty funeral home at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with Rev. A. F. Heltman officiating. Internment will be made in Fairview cemetery.
