On Saturday evening George Troutwine, jr., expired at his residence, on Blair street, a victim of brain fever. He had but entered upon life's practical career and in the promise of its early morning passed to the other side. Less than 23 years of age - born March 21, 1868; married in 1887, the years stretched out before him full of hopeful promise for the future. He was long an employe in the tannery of the Ray Bros., and in a sphere of a laboring man's life he honestly filled his place and won the respect of all who knew him. As husband and father he was among nature's noblemen, and of him it may be said that, moving in life's common walks, unostentatious, claiming to occupy no high moral ground not common to the race, he did his work and did it well, and rests among the knights of toil, the friends of humanity who in the last assize will not shrink to compare their records with those of higher place and wider renown. Many who knew him will sorrow for his death, outside his domestic circle. He was genial, manly, kind and generous, and those who knew him best will most regret "his untimely taking off." He was a member of the Friendship hook and ladder company, and also a member of Good Will council No. 42, Junior Order American Mechanics. The funeral service will take place in the German Lutheran church, on Logan street, this afternoon and will be conducted by the Rev. D. Ph. Eberts, the pastor, at 3 o'clock. The various organizations to which Mr. Troutwine belonged will be present at the obsequies, after which the body will be interred in Tyrone cemetery.
