J. WALTER UKKERD.

  J. Walter, eldest son of Holmes M. and May V. Ukkerd, died in Wheeling, Wst 
Va., February 7, 1899.  He was born in Washington, D.C., November 26, 1878, 
and had been a resident of Altoona seventeen years.  He was a student of 
Wilberforce university in Wilberforce, Ohio, for two years.  He was a young 
man of excellent qualities and beloved by all who knew him.  He leaves a 
mother and father, and one brother, Garnett H. Ukkerd.  He died of typhoid 
fever after an illness of two weeks.
