He was born Jan. 16, 1926, in Altoona, and was a resident of San Diego for 12 years. Mr. Ulrich was employed by the U.S. Air Force. USAF (Ret.), passed away peacefully in his sleep Jun 27, 1995 at the age of 69. He was a veteran of 32 years active military service, including active combat duty as an enlisted Marine in WWII and as a decorated fighter pilot in Korea and Vietnam. Dutch is survived by Shirley, his wife of 43 years, his mother Alma of Altoona, PA, and his brother Alden of Philadelphia, PA. He is also survived by his children Marci and husband Tommy Brown of Charlotte, NC, Mark and wife Lynette of Moreno Valley, CA, Kevin and his wife Meg of San Diego, CA and Stevin and wife Michele of Poway, CA. Surviving grandchildren include Jesse, Chloe, Michael, Maley, Paul, Alex and honorary grandchildren Curtis and Kyle. Memorial Services with Military Honors will be held at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery Monday July 10th at 2 p.m. Contributions in lieu of flowers should go to the VFW, the Retired Officers Association, PBS or to the donors favorite charity.
