UMBOWER Mr. Umbower, 74, of 517 W. 1st St., Williamsburg, died at 4:55 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 1982, in Mercy Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Umbower retired from the Martinsburg Shoe Co. in 1973. He was born Feb. 23, 1908, in Royer, Williamsburg RD, the son of Benjamin and Jeannette (Bartelbaugh) Umbower, and was twice married, first to Florence E. Lower, who died in 1957, then, June 11, 1963, in Winchester, Va., to Jennie Reigh. Surviving are his wife, three children: Benjamin H. of Altoona, David A. of Williamsburg and Shirley A. Pote in South Carolina; six grandchildren, and two stepsons: Wayne Lower of Shepfeld Lake, Ohio, and Gregory L. Reigh of Williamsburg. Also surviving are five brothers and sisters: Francis W., Mrs. Nellie Noland and Mrs. Pearl Lloyd of Williamsburg; Claire of Williamsburg RD 2 and Mrs. Mildred Whittaker of Clappertown. Mr. Umbower was a member of the Royer United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran of 15 years, serving in World War II in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theaters. He was a recipient of the Silver Star medal. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Bolger- Friedline Funeral Home. Williamsburg. UMBOWER - Services for Harry L. Umbower of 517 W. 1st St., Williamsburg, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Bolger-Friedline Funeral Home by the Rev. John Liddle. Interment in Alto-Reste Cemetery.
