Several weeks ago Mrs. Harry Van Tries, jr., of this city, went to Davenport and Bellview, Iowa, to visit relatives, taking with her her twin boys. On Monday Mr. Van Tries received a letter from his wife, written on the 2d, stating that she and the boys were well. Yesterday morning he was startled by the receipt of a telegram stating that his wife was bout to start home and that Howard, one of the children, was dead. As to the cause of this sudden death nothing is yet known. The dead child was aged 5 years, 5 months and 8 days. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Van Tries will deeply sympathize with them in this sudden bereavement. The funeral will take place from the residence of John Hall, Tenth street between Chestnut and Lexington avenues, at 10 o'clock a.m. to-morrow. Interment at Fairview cemetery.
