Vauclain, Esq., of this city, which sad event occurred on Sunday last, in Philadelphia. Mr. Vauclain filled the position of Chief Engineer in the navy, at the time of his death, having been promoted to that position by Congress, at the last session. Mr. Vauclain's remains were brought to this city last night on the Fast Line and were interred this afternoon at two o'clock in Fairview Cemetery. His dying request was that he be interred without any honors, to which his comrades reluctantly consented. We sympathize with his friends in their great loss. Clipping dated September 29, 1874 Fairview Cemtery, Altoona, Pa. Vauclain, James L., s/o A. G. & M. A. d. 927/874 36y 2m A.E., U.S. Navy Section D, Lot 108
