TYRONE TOPICS.

  We are sorry to learn yesterday that Charles F. Vaughn, a former 
employe in the office of the Elizabeth coal company at this place, died 
of consumption at the home of his sister, at Smith Mills, Clearfield 
county, Saturday morning last at 7 o'clock.  Mr. Vaughn was well known 
in this community.  He was a genial, whole-souled young man and had 
many friends, who will be surprised at this notice of his early taking 
away.  We are without full particulars but are informed that his 
remains will be taken to his native home in the state of Maine for 
interment.  He was a young man possessing many noble traits of hand and 
heart.
