VAUGHN Died at 7:30 o'clock yesterday morning at his residence in Newry, of heart failure, having been ill only about twenty minutes. Deceased was aged 68 years, 6 months and 26 days, and was highly respected by all who knew him. His wife and the following children survive: Mrs. Jonathan Hicks, William J., John R., Edward A., Arthur S. and Thomas Lloyd Vaughn, all of Altoona. He also leaves these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Matilda Gibboney and George W. Vaughn, of Altoona; Sister Thecia, of the Mercy convent, Allegheny, and Joseph A. Vaughn, of Duncansville. He was a soldier during the war of the rebellion, having served four years as a member of company C, Seventy-sixth regiment, Pennsylvania volunteers. Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at St. Patrick's church; interment in the Catholic cemetery at Newry. Altoona Mirror, October 16, 1898
