Wagerman of 1917 Thirteenth avenue, a Pittsburgh division Pennsy freight conductor, died suddenly at his home Saturday evening at 6.15 o'clock of paralysis of the heart. He had been ill for several months but was able to be about his home Saturday. He had started downstairs from the second floor shortly after 6 o'clock when he fell on reaching the first landing. His wife, who had been out for some medicine, upon returning heard a faint moan and found her husband in a semi-conscious condition. Dr. H. C. Miller was called but nothing could be done for the stricken man. Emory G. Wagerman was the son of Samuel and Mary Wagerman of Emmittsburg, Md., where he was born March 8, 1868. He was reared in his native town and at the age of 22, came to this city and entered the Pennsy service. He served as a brakeman on the Pittsburgh division for a number of years and later was promoted to conductor. He figured in several wrecks and was injured eleven years ago at South Fork. On Oct, 6, 1896, he was united in marriage to Miss Frances H. Kane of this city, who survives with two daughters, Misses Leota M. and Mildred C., both at home. His parents also survive with these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Ada Topper, John H., Roy and Charles Wagerman, all of Emmittsburg; Harry of Highfield, Md., and Joseph of Winnemac, Ind. His mother was a guest at his late home when he died. He was a member of Christ Reformed church, United lodge No. 174, Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and the P.R.R. relief association. He was popular among a large circle of friends and was widely known among railroad men. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon with short services at his late residence at 2.15 o'clock. At 2.30 the cortege will proceed to Christ Reformed church where public services will be held at 3 o'clock. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., December 13, 1915, page 16
