All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _______________________________________________ WAGNER Blaine Lawrence Wagner, a well known young man of the Eighth ward, died at his home, 507 Seventh avenue, at 3.30 o'clock Saturday morning of pneumonia, following an attack of influenza. He had been ill for a period of ten days. Deceased was the son of Jacob W. and Minnie I. Wagner and was born on Piney Creek, near Williamsburg, on August 9, 1891. He was reared in that vicinity and resided there until eleven years ago when he accompanied his parents to this city and had since resided here. He was a machinist by occupation and was employed in the Pennsylvania blacksmith shop at Fourth street. He was a Christian young man and took a great interest in church work. He was a member of the Second Lutheran church, was secretary of the Sunday school and had not missed attending one Sunday in eleven years until his illness forced his absence. He was also president of the Christian Endeavor society and was esteemed and respected by all who shared his acquaintance. He was also a member of the P.R.R. Relief association. He is survived by his parents and these brothers and sisters, Mrs. Grace L. Willis, of Ellington, Mo.; William H. and Walter S., of this city; Sergeant Joseph H., in France with the 66th Engineers; Ruth Rebecca, of the Lutheran Mother House, Baltimore; Sarah J., Irene M., and Theodore, all at home. He is also survived by an aged grandmother. Friends may view the remains from 7 to 9.30 o'clock this evening and from 9 to 11 o'clock Tuesday morning. Public funeral services will be conducted at Second Lutheran church at 2.30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon followed by private interment in Greenwood cemetery.
