Wagner and her daughter, Alice Jane Wagner, both of 1540 Pleasant Valley avenue, died yesterday within four hours, death in both cases being caused by pneumonia. The mother, wife of Alfred B. Wagner, died yesterday morning at 8.20 o'clock and the daughter died shortly after noon. Mrs. Wagner was born March 4, 1878. Surviving are her husband and nine children: David E., William T., Charles O., John C., James A., Earl F., Alfred B., Maud and Mrs. Mary Kauffman and four grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the First United Evangelical church since 1905, and a devoted mother. The daughter was born Dec. 4, 1901. She too was a member of the First United Evangelical church, and was a devoted Christian. Both mother and daughter had been ill for about ten days. Up until a few days ago both were confined to the same room. The daughter never learned that her mother was dead. Not more than a week ago six members of the family were confined to their beds by illness, the deceased mother and daughter and another child having pneumonia, and three others bordering on the disease. The four others, however, have about recovered. Whether the pneumonia had its origin in Spanish flu has not been definitely established. There were twelve children in the family, two having died some time ago. A double funeral will be held for the mother and daughter, the services to be held Saturday afternoon at 2.30 at the home. Interment will be made at Oak Ridge. Altoona Times, Thursday Morning, October 3, 1918 FUNERAL NOTICES. The funeral of Mrs. Lucy M. Wagner and her daughter, Miss Alice Wagner, who both died yesterday at their home, 1540 Pleasant Valley avenue, will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock at the home instead of at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, as formerly announced. Interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery. Altoona Times, Friday Morning, October 4, 1918
