WAITE Norman Ellwood Waite, Pinecroft, a retired employe of the Juniata shops and well known locally as a singer, died yesterday morning at 7:30 o'clock at his home after a brief illness. He was born in Altoona Dec. 2, 1878, a son of Samuel and Rachael (McMillen) Waite. He was employed by the PRR 49 years until his retirement two years ago as a piece work inspector. He was a tenor with the PRR chorus and various church choirs. He was a member of the First Baptist church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rhoda (McIlwaine) Waite, three daughters, Mrs. Janey Huey, Allensville; Mrs. Charlotte Parker and Martha A. Waite, Flushing, N.Y.; one sister and a brother, Mrs. J. S. Nelson, Pittsburg; and Jesse Waite, Newton Hamilton. A son, Wayne, died in 1941. Mr. Waite reposes at the V. L. Stevens funeral home. WAITE - Funeral services for Norman Ellwood Waite of Pinecroft will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the V. L. Stevens funeral home in charge of Rev. Simpson.
