For nineteen years Mr. Waite had been employed by the Gardner Coal company, later the Tyrone Fuel and Supply company. Yesterday he had a day off and had reported for duty early this morning, his birthday, and had only worked a few minutes when he fell to the floor of the barn and passed peacefully away. His physician stated that apoplexy caused his death. Thomas Waite was a son of George and Mary Woomer Waite. He was born at Ironsville, November 4, 1862, and had resided in this community all his life. On May 29, 1883, he was united in marriage at Birmingham with Miss Ida Miller, who with these sons and daughters survive to mourn the death of a devoted husband and father: George of Akron, Ohio; Elmer and Sylvester, Mrs. Guy Merriman and Mrs. Harry Thompson, of Tyrone; Mrs. Daniel Elvey, of Altoona. He is also survived by these brothers and sisters: Harry and Calvin, of Ironsville; Mrs. Viola Gillman of Tyrone; Mrs. Harry Mingle of Nealmont. The death this morning is the fourth to have occurred in the family in ten months. Thomas Waite was a respected citizen of Tyrone. He was a kind, loving husband and splendid neighbor. He was honest and honorable and gave his employers a faithful service, always on duty and never flinching a duty. The funeral services will be announced in Friday's Herald.
