All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Paul Raymond Walk Paul Raymond Walk, a former Tyrone resident who had resided at Julian since 1961, died Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Altoona Veterans Administration Hospital, where he had been admitted Dec. 3rd, following a brief illness. He was born May 3, 1897, at Osceola Mills, the son of Michael and Clara (Murphy) Walk. He was married to Flora May Markle, on August 4, 1919. He is survived by his wife, five sons and five daughters: Mrs. Lester (Delores) VanAllman, Hayden R. and Paul O., all of Tyrone; Mrs. Hubert (Thelma) McGuire, Akron, Ohio; Robert G., of California; Charles R., of Connecticut; Mrs. Thomas (Clara) Holmes, Sandy Ridge; Mrs. William (Janet) Harpster, Altoona; Mrs. Marion (Donna) Glasgow, Bellwood; and Warren J., of Julian; 31 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family and was preceded in death by a son, a granddaughter and a great grandson. He had been self employed as a painter in the area for more than 50 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I and a member of the Howard Gardner American Legion Post 281. Funeral service will be held Sunday, at 2 p.m. at the Getz and Searer Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard G. Felty officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood. Friends will be received at the funeral home Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., January 6, 1978
