Blair Walker, who has been for many years a citizen of this place, died at Washington City, on last Wednesday, of hemorrhage of the lungs. Mr. Walker was born and educated in this county, and after being engaged in business in this place for many years, removed to Philadelphia, whence he returned about four years ago. He was for many years an officer of the Allegheny Portage Railroad, in the Collector's Department, and in all the positions which he has occupied, he has discharged his duties faithfully and promptly and enjoyed a high reputation as a correct and skillful man of business. In his private character he was much esteemed for his many noble and generous qualities, and died leaving many friends who will mourn his death. Mr. Walker had been absent from home but a few months, and was, at the time of his death, engaged in some military capacity at Washington. His age was forty-one years and three months. His funeral took place on Sunday afternoon, from the Exchange Hotel, and his remains were interred in the Presbyterian Cemetery. Democratic Standard, Hollidaysburg, Pa., Wednesday, July 16, 1862
