At his home, 2615 Clay street, San Francisco, Cal., on February 26, Captain Patrick F. Walsh died in his 63d year of his age. Deceased was a native of Cork, Ireland. In the early sixties he became a citizen of Hollidaysburg, was a member of the Emmet Guard of the state militia, and later entered the service of the United States as a private in company E, Eighty-fourth regiment, Pennsylvania volunteers, passing through various grades until he became captain. He was severely wounded at the battle of Winchester and honorably discharged. In 1866 he went to California, where he soon became one of that state's best known men. He was adjutant general, 1876-80; registrar of voters in San Francisco, 1884-5, and United States pension agent in that city, 1894-8. He is survived by his wife and three children.
