WALTER, Wife of former County Commissioner Calvin Walter, died at the family home in Claysburg last night at 11.15 o'clock, death being due to a complication of diseases following a stroke of paralysis with which she was stricken some time ago. She had partly recovered from the attack, but was taken seriously ill again on Saturday and continued to grow weaker until the end. She was born near Claysburg July 15, 1847, the daughter of Michael and Catherine Black. She was the last of her family, two brothers and two sisters having preceded her to the grave. In addition to her husband, she is survived by the following children: John and Mary, both of Claysburg, and one stepson, Kirk Walter, also of Claysburg. Mrs. Walter was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church. The funeral will be conducted in the Lutheran church at Claysburg on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock and will be in charge of Funeral Directors Jacob Carn & Son and the services will be conducted by her pastor, Rev. C. E. Berkey. Interment will be made in the Lutheran cemetery.
