He was one of Klahr's most highly esteemed and respected residents. Although not in good health for several months his death was a great surprise as he had been able to attend the election on Tuesday. He was the son of Henry and Elizabeth Walter, both deceased, and was born near Klahr on Sept. 16, 1849. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Walter, and two daughters, Mrs. Howard Burket of East Freedom and Mrs. Howard W. Shaefer of Juniata. Four grandchildren also survive and two brothers, Emanuel and Lorenzo Walter, both of Klahr. Funeral services will be held in the Brethren church at Klahr on Sunday morning at 10 o'clock.
