Yesterday morning Alderman O'Toole received a letter from Mrs. William Walton, of Jersey City, saying her son, Hannibal Walton, had died at that place at 11.30 o'clock. He was one of the best known colored men in Altoona and resided here until last August, when he went to Jersey City with his mother and sister. He was employed as a bricklayer and took an active interest in politics. He was aged 40 years and is survived by his mother and one sister, Mrs. Carrie Lewis. The remains will be interred in Jersey City cemetery to-day. Morning Tribune, Friday, January 19, 1900
