Interment at Altoona, Saturday, November 8th. The North American, Philadelphia, PA, Saturday, November 8, 1890 LOUIS WALTON. Death of One of Altoona's Best and Most Respected Citizens. Yesterday morning a telegram was received announcing the death, at the home of his cousin, Mr. Coates Walton, Merchantville, N.J., of Mr. Louis Walton, a gentleman who had for years been a resident of Altoona and who was one of its most respected citizens. The announcement of a death always brings sorrow and all the more does it so when the one who has been summoned is one who is universally esteemed and who but a few months previous seemed in excellent health. Mr. Walton had been in ill health for about a year past. Three weeks or more ago he went to Philadelphia for treatment, but the disease which had fastened upon his system would not loosen its hold despite the best of medical treatment and death claimed him. The cause of his demise was Bright's disease. Born and reared in Philadelphia, Mr. Walton had been for thirty years a resent of Altoona. He was one of its best citizens, always keeping the interests of the town in his mind and advancing them whenever possible. During his residence in Altoona he was in the employ of the Pennsylvania railroad, and at the time of his death was requisition clerk and assistant to the chief clerk in the office of Superintendent of Motive Power Wallis. He was an efficient member of the Altoona school board and visiting director in the Second ward. Mr. Walton was aged about 50 years and leaves a wife and three children. In the year 1868 he was married to Miss Adessa Bell, daughter of William Bell, and their married life was a most happy one. Their children are - William, who is a student at the New Jersey Institute, at Bridgeton; Louis, jr., and Elizabeth. He also leaves three brothers and two sisters - Mr. Jesse Walton, of Philadelphia, in the purchasing office, Pennsylvania railroad; Henry, of Maryland; Edward, in the west; Mrs. W. Anker, of Mt. Holly, N.J., and Miss Elizabeth Walton, of Philadelphia. His body will be brought to Altoona on Pacific express this morning and conveyed to his late residence, No. 1107 Eighth avenue. The funeral will take place on Saturday. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday, November 5, 1890
