He struck on his head and never regained consciousness. Cambria Freeman, Ebensburg, Pa., Friday, January 16, 1903 FELL TWENTY-FIVE FEET Chief of Police Wands' Son James Fatally Hurt at the Academy of Music James A. Wands died at the home of his parents, 210 East Tenth street, at five minutes before 6 o'clock this morning, aged 15? Years, 9 months and 6 days. The boy was subject to epileptic attacks, and about 10 o'clock last night in a paroxysm fell from the scenery loft of the academy of music to the stage, a distance of about twenty-five feet, alighting on his head. He was picked up and conveyed to his home across the street, where he lay in partial unconsciousness until his death at the hour named this morning. James Alexander Wands was the son of Chief of Police Harry Wands and Mrs. Catharine M. Wands, and was born at Tyrone Forges April 3?, 1887. Though most unfortunately afflicted he was an active, energetic lad, full of industry and ever ready to earn a nickel or a dollar. Besides, he was a clever boy, and was very much liked by young and old with whom he came in contact. Besides his parents, three sisters and two brothers survive, viz: Miss Maxie M. Wands, of DuBois; Mrs. William Bollinger, of Tyrone, and Emma B., Warren W. and George D. at the family home on East Tenth street. In their affliction the family have the sympathy of neighbors and friends generally in the community. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon. Services conducted by Rev. J. A.
