Mrs. Catharine Dick Wareham died at her home about two miles south of Roaring Spring on Friday morning, March 16, at 6.15 o'clock of paralysis. She was taken ill on Monday evening and lingered till Friday morning during which time she gained consciousness once and talked to those who patiently cared for her. She was the daughter of Daniel and Catharine Dick, deceased, and was born on the Stone House farm, now occupied by J. B. Brumbaugh and with the exception of a few years, spent her entire life on the land which was once her father's. She was born July 4, 1835, being aged 81 years, 8 months and 12 days. She was married 48 years ago to Martin Wareham who preceded her to the grave five years ago. The deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Albright, two grandchildren, Alvin and Catharine Albright. One sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Neterer, of Goshen, Indiana, who is almost 86 years of age also survives. The funeral services were held Sunday morning at 10 a.m. in the Albright Church of the Brethren of which the deceased had been a member for several years, and were conducted by Rev. M. R. Brumbaugh of Martinsburg, assisted by Rev. C. W. Garber of near Roaring Spring. Interment in Albright cemetery. Her remains were born to their last resting place by six of her nephews, namely, Daniel L. Dick of Juniata, Hiram H. Dick of Altoona, Plummer Dick, Ira L. Dick, David L. Dick and Ambrose H. Dick of Roaring Spring. Just three weeks ago this aged lady's only surviving brother, Daniel P. Dick, was stricken with paralysis on Monday evening, died the following Friday, funeral services were held on Sunday morning at the same hour and in the same church with interment in the same cemetery as was those of his sister who followed so closely. This aged brother and sister had lived their entire lives very near together and their remains now rest a few feet apart in God's acre. Both will be greatly missed in their respective homes and both had many friends in the community as was evidenced by the large attendance at both funerals.
