MARTIN WAREHAM. Friday, January 26, Martin Wareham died at his home in Taylor township, near Roaring Spring, aged 72 years and 28 days. He was a highly respected citizen and strictly honest in all his dealings. He was born and raised in the community in which he lived and died, with the exception of four years, during which time he lived at Cessna, Bedford county. His wife, who was Miss Catharine Dick, survives, as does one daughter, Mrs. Andrew Albright, and two grandchildren, Alvin and Catharine Albright. One brother, Joseph Wareham, of Elgin, Illinois, is living. Deceased was a son of Joseph and Elizabeth Wareham, both dead. Mr. Wareham was a veteran in the Civil war, having served as a private in Company B., Third regiment Pennsylvania volunteers cavalry. He enlisted February 24, 1865, for one year, and was honorably discharged October 31, 1865, at Cumberland, Maryland. In politics he was a staunch republican. The funeral was held Sunday morning at 9.30. Services were conducted in the Albright Church of the Brethren of which he was a member for thirteen years, by Elders James D. Brumbaugh, F. C. Dively, and Rev. H. H. Rascher. Interment was made in the Albright cemetery, followed by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and neighbors. The following persons from a distance attended the funeral: Jacob Wareham and family and Joseph Wareham and wife of Martinsburg; Mrs. Martin Lindsey of Duncansville; D. L. Dick of Juniata; James Hinton of Cessna; Martin Hinton and Mrs. George Carson of New Paris; Andrew Wareham of Snake Spring Valley; Miss Margaret Wareham of Everett, and Mrs. Elizabeth Ritchey of Clearville.
