The natural decline incident to old age was the cause of death. Mrs. Warren had been ailing for about six months and during her long illness she had been a great sufferer. Had the deceased lived until the end of the present month, she would have completed eighty years of life. She was born at Gettysburg, February 28, 1825, and in that town her early years were spent. On April 2, 1844, at Gettysburg, she was united in marriage to George Warren, and they continued to resident there until 1854 when Mr. Warren entered the traveling ministry of the Methodist Episcopal church. From 1854 until 1896, Reverend Mr. Warren was engaged in the active ministry and Mrs. Warren was his devoted and pious help meet in his ministerial labors and in the household responsibilities. Their places of residence, as usual, with the Methodist preacher, were many. In 1867 and 1868 they lived at Tyrone, Reverend Mr. Warren being then stationed here. Again, in 1896, upon his retirement from the active ministry, they removed from Duncansville to Tyrone and had ever since resided here. To the aged husband so signally bereft, the sympathy of this community and of many communities will be extended. Of their ten children, eight still survive as follows: Virginia, wife of T. B. Beyer, of Ramey; Miriam, wife of Charles S. Shoup, of Jersey Shore; George B. Warren, of Brockwayville; Marietta, wife of M. S. Briggs, and Charles T. Warren, of Pratt, Kansas; Bertha, wife of J. J. Cole, of Meuominee, Michigan; Mrs. Elizabeth Gutelius and Miss Nannie Warren, at home. One brother, William H. Bowen, of St. Joseph, Missouri, and one sister, Mrs. Margaretta Wissler, of Tacoma, Washington, also survive. The funeral services will be held in the First Methodist Episcopal Church, Tyrone, at 1.30 o'clock on Thursday afternoon. They will be conducted by Reverend J. H. Daugherty, assisted by Reverend W. W. Evans D. D., and Reverend J. Ellis Bell. Interment in Tyrone cemetery. The Tyrone Herald, Tyrone, Pa., February 2, 1905, page 1
