At midnight last night Miss Sarah J. Watson died at her home, 1010 Howard avenue, of heart disease, from which she had been a sufferer for some time. She was a sister of J. M. Watson, of this city. The funeral services will be held at her late home this evening, at an hour to be announced in the evening papers. On Thursday morning the body will be taken to Lock Haven for interment. Morning Tribune, Wednesday, October 18, 1899 MISS SARAH J. WATSON. A brief note in the Tribune yesterday morning announced the death of Miss Sarah J. Watson at her home, 1010 Howard avenue. She was aged about 44 years and was born near Beech Creek, Clinton county. She was a school teacher by profession. For several years she taught in Johnstown and came to Altoona in 1890, this city being her residence ever since. Death was caused by heart disease, she having been a sufferer therefrom for several years. Some two weeks ago the disease assumed a serious phase and she was compelled to leave the school room and return home. Miss Watson was a charitable, kindly lady and a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church. One brother and four sisters survive her. They are: John M. Watson, of this city; Mrs. Fanny Donahay, of Williamsport; Mrs. Minnie Warren, of Kansas City; Mrs. Martha Balliette, of Harrisburg and Miss Lillie Watson, of Philadelphia. Funeral services were conducted at her late home last evening by Rev. Horace Lincoln Jacobs, her pastor. The body will be taken to Lock Haven on seashore express this morning for interment.
