Weidel, aged 20 years, 1 month and 20 days. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Tuesday, November 9, 1880 Decease of a Young Man. Daniel Sylvester Weidel, a son of D. G. and R. Weidel, who reside on Sixth avenue, near Fourteenth street, departed this life on Saturday night at about 11 o'clock, and was followed to his last resting place by a large concourse of friends yesterday afternoon. The deceased was aged 20 years, 2 months and 21 days, and was the pride and hope of his friends. He was steady and industrious and bid fair to become a useful member of society. But God, whose ways are not as our ways, saw fit to take him hence just as he was merging into manhood. About two weeks since he was stricken down with typhoid fever, contracted from the fumes at the mouth of the Eighth avenue sewer. The funeral took place from the residence of his parents, and was conducted by Rev. Mr. Baker. Interment at Fairview. A good, conscientious young man has gone from among us. Peace to his ashes.
