In Tyrone Township, Blair County, on Tuesday morning, 21st inst., Alvin B., second son of Joseph and Mary Weight; aged 13 years, 1 month and 20? Days. The deceased came to his death by one of those mysterious providences which God often sends as an admonition to mortals, to remember that "In the midst of life we are in death," and that death makes no choice in its victims. On Friday he was at school, as lively and joyous as any of his schoolmates. On Saturday, while engaged in driving the horses, and standing on the horse-power of the threshing machine, his foot slipped, and being caught in the wheels, his leg was broken, and literally smashed, tearing a great part of the flesh from the bone, and causing the wonder, that instant death was not produced. He, however, lingered until Tuesday morning, when his sufferings were closed in that last sleep that knows no waking till the last trump shall sound, which will call to life - The old, the young, the parent and the child.
