Weight, aged 66, a native of Bellwood and former resident of Altoona, drowned in the bathtub at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Garman, of 614 Tenth street, early this morning. Mrs. Weight arrived at the Garman home last evening from Saginaw, Mich., and planned to make her home with her sister. Her husband died last August and Mrs. Weight had since been subject to melancholy moods. A note left at the Garman home expressed regret at the trouble she made by her act. Mrs. Weight was born in Bellwood on Aug. 4, 1873, a daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Zimmerman) Steel, and spent her early married life in Altoona, her husband being employed in the Altoona works. Later the family moved to Punxsutawney, residing there until Mr. Weight's death. Surviving are one daughter and one son, Mrs. Joseph DeBiase of the city, and George Weight of Saginaw, Mich.; two grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Clark Kerns of Bellwood and Mrs. Garman of the city. She was a member of the Punxsutawney Baptist church. The body has been removed to the N. A. Stevens mortuary pending the arrival of the son from Michigan.
