Mr. Weight was 72 years old and practically his entire life had been spent in Antis township. He enlisted at the opening of the Civil war and served throughout that conflict, his final enlistment being in Company A, One Hundred and Tenth regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers. At the age of 16 years, he united with the Logan Valley Baptist church. He had for many years been a deacon. Widely known throughout the vicinity, he was just as widely esteemed. The voters of the township had conferred various offices upon him, the last one being that of tax collector, which he was obliged to decline, on account of failing health. Two sons, John of Punxsutawney and Charles of Bellwood, survive him also four grandchildren and two sisters: Mrs. Bigler Ross of Johnstown and Mrs. Phoebe Starmer of Kane. The funeral services will be held in the Logan Valley Baptist church at 10 o'clock Thursday morning, after which the interment will be made in Logan Valley cemetery.
