Weir, wife of Alexander Weir, the Eleventh street tobacconist and notary public, died yesterday morning at 11 o'clock, at her home, 917 Lexington avenue. Death was due to pneumonia. Mrs. Weir was taken ill on November 11, but her condition was believed to be not immediately serious. During the past few days she suffered a number of relapses. Wednesday midnight and up until the hour of death she sank rapidly, passing away peacefully at the hour stated. She was a daughter of the late George M. and Rebecca Metz and was born in this city only a half block from the Weir home, residing all her life on Lexington avenue. Christmas day, 1900, she married Alexander Weir in Buffalo, N.Y. Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Miss Helen, at home, and one brother, Samuel S. Metz, secretary-treasurer of the Mountain City Trust company. She was a faithful member of the First Methodist Episcopal church and was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends, to whom her death came as a distinct shock yesterday morning. Funeral services will be held from the home tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock, with interment following in Fairview cemetery. The body may be viewed from 7 until 9 o'clock this evening.
