Thomas Weitzenegger, a Victim of a Runaway Accident. Thomas Weitzenegger, of 2115 First avenue, the dairyman, who with George Albright and Fred Ritter, was injured in a runaway accident which occurred at Fifth avenue and Eighteenth street last Tuesday after noon, died at the Altoona hospital Saturday afternoon at 2.25 o'clock of intestinal paralysis, the result of the injuries received, a fracture of the neck of the right thigh, besides being badly bruised. Deceased was born in Germany September 7, 1869, being 30 years, 4 months and 20 days old. He came to America seven years ago and settled in this city. Four years ago he embarked in the dairy business and was fairly successful. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church and was known and much esteemed by a large number of friends. He is survived by his wife and two children. The funeral will take place Monday afternoon, services to be conducted in St. Mary's church at 4 o'clock; interment in St. Mary's cemetery. Deputy Coroner McCartney make [sic] an investigation in the case and decided an inquest unnecessary. Morning Tribune, Monday, January 29, 1900
