WERTZ DIED SUDDENLY TODAY IN THE CLEARFIELD HOSPITAL Aden B. Wertz, of West Fourteenth street, the well known Tyrone division engineer, died very suddenly in the Clearfield hospital this morning at 3:25 o'clock, following an operation. Mr. Wertz, while not in the best of health for over a year, was as well as usual. Last week he went to the Clearfield hospital for treatment and a minor operation. He was feeling fine yesterday and his family hoped to have him home in a few days. Very suddenly after midnight he suffered a complete collapse and his life slipped out. Aden Blair Wertz was a son of the late Albert and Catherine Ritchey Wertz. He was born on a farm near Frankstown, November 9, 1860 and lived in that vicinity during his young manhood days, where he attended the public schools and received a good education. He came to Tyrone in 1889 and had been one of our most respected citizens ever since. In 1890 he entered the service of the Pennsylvania Railroad company and attained the position of an engineer. In all of his associations he was held in high esteem by his fellow workmen and by the officials of the company. In 1882 at Hollidaysburg Aden B. Wertz and Miss Sarah Jane Delozier were united in marriage by Rev. Dr. Ryder. Down through the years this happy couple traveled until Mrs. Wertz was called home in October, 1923. These sons and daughters survive to mourn the death of a devoted father: Ralph A; Lee E.; Harold; Mrs. James C. McConahy; Mrs. C. K. Davis; Olive and Thelma, all of Tyrone; Mrs. B. D. McCallion and Anne, of Denver, Colorado. These sisters and brother also survive: Mrs. David Denlinger of Iowa; Mrs. William Vipond, Mrs. James Graham of Sylvan Hills and Bert Wertz of Hollidaysburg. Aden B. Wertz was a member of the Columbia Avenue Methodist Episcopal church and of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and the P.R.R. Relief association. He was a good man and lived a sincere christian life in his home, church and the community, he will be missed and his many friends regret very much to hear of his sudden passing away. Funeral services will be announced in Wednesday's Herald. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., August 18, 1925
