WERTZ Of 811 3rd Ave., died at 6.40 a.m. today in the Altoona Hospital following a brief illness. She was born at Imlertown Oct. 4, 1883, a daughter of John and Leah (Klutz) Fletcher. Her husband, Gervaise Wertz, died in 1935. Mrs. Wertz was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, the Church Guild, Golden Age Club, Get-Together Club and the auxiliary to Unit 6 of the Retired men's Club. Surviving are four sons, John C., Edwin G. and Robert F. of Altoona and Harry F. of Philadelphia; seven sisters, Mrs. Lottie Harclerode, Mrs. Margaret Grissinger and Mrs. Barbara Hammer of Bedford, Mrs. Mary Gilliard of Pueblo, Colo., Mrs. Myra Dibert of Welsh, W.Va., Mrs. Lillian Swift of Margate, N.J., and Mrs. Emma McGraw of Johnstown; three brothers, Charles Fletcher of Hollidaysburg, Harry of Bedford and Eugene of Washington, Pa.; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
