Wertz, 80, of 1716 Old route 220 North, Duncansville, died unexpectedly Saturday evening, July 30, 1994, at his residence. He was born Sept. 9, 1913, in West Loop, Hollidaysburg RD, the son of Maxwell and Lillian (Hileman) Wertz. He married Cora Shaw on April 27, 1945, in Bellwood. She died May 1, 1994. Mr. Wertz was a charter member of Frankstown Park Missionary Church, where he served on the church board, and was a church steward and usher. He retired as a car repair helper from Penn Central Railroad in March 1973, after more than 30 years of service. He then worked part time for the Altoona Area Vo-Tech School for a number of years. Surviving are three sisters: Ethel Endress and Erdene Shoenfelt, both of Hollidaysburg, and Margaretta Russell of Duncansville. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Liebegott-Fisher Funeral Home, Duncansville. WERTZ - Services for David M. Wertz of 1716 Old Route 220 North, Duncansville, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Liebegott-Fisher Funeral Home Inc., Duncansville, by Pastors James Smith, Terry Farr and Joseph Sabo. Interment at Alto-Reste Park. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Liebegott-Fisher Funeral Home Inc., Duncansville. Preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Virgil Wertz of Hollidaysburg, The Rev. Max Wertz of Springfield, Ohio, and Pauline Leathers of Cleveland, Ohio.
