WERTZ After an illness of only one week, caused by a stroke apoplexy, Mr. Jacob M. Wertz, of 1718 Eighth avenue died at 8:30 this morning at the age of 68 years. Mr. Wertz was the son of John and Elizabeth Harnish Wertz of Hollidaysburg. There Mr. Wertz was born in February, 1835, and lived until about thirteen years ago, when with his wife and children moved to Altoona. Mr. Wertz engaged in farming and in recent years furnished teams for the Atlantic Refining company. On June 6, 1861, he married Mary E. Williams, of Hollidaysburg, who survives him. He also leaved behind four children: Elizabeth Fritts and Sergeant of Police Chas. M. Wertz, both of whom reside at 1718 Eighth avenue, namely the house of the deceased; Frank and James Wertz of Hollidaysburg. Interment will take place in the Presbyterian cemetery at Hollidaysburg on Thursday at 2 p.m. Preceding the funeral, services will be held at the house, conducted by Rev.
