Deceased was born May 7, 1862, at Hollidaysburg and was a son of Jacob B. and Mary (Mountain) Wertz, both deceased. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sadie M. Wertz and the following children: Mrs. E. L. Porter of Juniata, Estelle, Gladys and Thelma, all at home. He leaves the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. P. S. Stoner of Llyswen, C. B. Wertz of Eldorado, Mrs. E. B. Stull of Altoona, Mrs. V. F. Lauffer of Lakemont, Mrs. Samuel Keller, Mrs. S. P. Miller, J.W. and B. A. Wertz, all of Duncansville, M. W. Wertz of Hollidaysburg and Mrs. Jane Elliott of State College. He also leaves two grandchildren. He was a Lutheran by faith and was a member of the B. of R.T. No. 17, and the railroad relief. Funeral services will be conducted at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Juniata at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Interment will be made in Greenwood cemetery.
