Maxwell W. Wertz of 5904 Sixth avenue, died unexpectedly at his home at 8:45 
o'clock yesterday morning. He was born on April 9, 1882, in Hollidaysburg, 
R.D., the son of Jacob and Mary (Mountain) Wertz, and married Lillian Hileman 
Dec. 31, 1903, in Hollidaysburg. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are his 
wife, four daughters, Mrs. Ethel Endress, Mrs. Margarette Russell and Mrs. 
Pauline Leathers of Altoona and Mrs. Erdene Schoenfelt of Hollidaysburg, three 
sons, Virgil of Hollidaysburg, David of Altoona and Max of Duncansville, R.D., 
three sisters, Mrs. Maude Keller, and Mrs. Bertha Miller of  Duncansville and 
Mrs. Eva Merritts of Revloc. He was a member of the United Missionary church 
and Sunday school superintendent of that church for 50 years. Friends will be 
received at the Liebegott funeral home, Duncansville, about 7 o'clock this 
evening.
