WERTZ Well-known Antis township citizen, died last evening at his home in Gospel hollow, near Bellwood. He was a son of William and Catherine (Mountain) Wertz and was born in the Loop Feb. 10, 1860. He moved to Bellwood when a young man and he and a brother, Jacob Alley Wertz, engaged in the sawmill business. He was married to Mary Irvin of Gospel hollow, who died May 16, 1900. Surviving are two sons and one daughter, Irvin B. Wertz of Bellwood, Herman Wertz of Warren, Pa., and Mrs. Elizabeth Cook, at the Wertz home; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and one brother, Luther Wertz of Lisbon, Pa. Mr. Wertz was a member of the Logan Valley Baptist church, Bellwood. Friends will be received at the Fuoss mortuary, Bellwood, after noon Wednesday. WERTZ - Funeral services for William B. Wertz of Gospel hollow will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock in the Fuoss mortuary chapel in charge of Rev. G. W. Meadows. Interment in the Bellwood cemetery.
