Westley, 60, of 4017 Ridge Avenue, Altoona died early Monday morning June 27, 2005 at the Altoona Center for Nursing Care following an extended illness. He was born August 24, 1944 in Tyrone, son of the late Harry E. and Eva (Pfister) Westley. He married Cathy Pasekoff on February 2, 1966 in Altoona. She is surviving. John was of the Presbyterian faith. He was employed by Altoona Pipe and Steel Supply Company as a quality/safety manager with 22 years service. He was a 1962 graduate of Altoona High School and also a graduate of the Williamson Trade School. John was a National Guard veteran. He was an avid train enthusiast and enjoyed all types of outdoor activities. Surviving are two sons, David J. Westley and his wife Carol of Hollidaysburg; Christopher M. Westley of Allentown; three grandchildren, Audrey, Rachel and Benjamin Westley of Hollidaysburg; a sister, Joyce Surplus of Largo, FL; a sister-in-law, Patricia Westley of Tyrone and numerous nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by a brother Robert and a sister Evelyn Drake. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2005 and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2005 at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at the funeral home with Rev. Douglas R. McGaffin officiating. Memorial donations in memory of John may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 212 Allegheny Street, 1st Floor, Hollidaysburg, Pa 16648 or to the American Cancer Society, 1004 North Juniata Street, Hollidaysburg, Pa 16648.
