Mrs. Mary Hart, an aged lady, well and favorably known to most of our citizens, died Monday evening at the residence of Mr. Daniel Stoner, 919 Seventeenth street. The cause of death was heart failure. Deceased was born at Frankstown on the 1st day of March, 1800, and was, consequently, aged 89 years, 1 month and 10 days at the time of her death. Mrs. Hart's maiden name was Mary Westover, and at an early age she married Mr. Ezra Hart, deceased. To this union nine children were born, five of whom are dead. Those who survive are: Mrs. Margaret Stoner, of this city; Mrs. Mains, of Millville; P. S. Hart, of Altoona, and Oliver Hart, of Tonganixio, Kansas. Deceased is also survived by three step children, who are: Mrs. Brubaker, of Altoona; Mrs. George Clapper, of Carson Valley, and Mrs. Ellis Hart, of Duncansville. Five brothers, the oldest of whom is 96 years of age, are also living and are William, Jonathan and Charles Westover, of Clearfield county; Enos Westover, of Frankstown, and Oliver Westover, who resides in the west. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren to the number of 200. On the death of her husband, which event occurred in 1851, Mrs. Hart came to this city and has resided here since that time. She was a consistent member of the First Lutheran church for about thirty-five years and was prepared for the final dissolution when the summons came. Deceased was past 89 years and was an earnest christian woman. Her maiden name was Mary Westover and she was born in Frankstown, this county. Early in life she married Ezra Hart, deceased, and to this union were born nine children. Four survive. They are Mrs. Margaret Stoner, of this city; Mrs. Mains, of Millville; P. S. Hart, of Altoona, and Oliver Hart, of Tonganixio, Kansas. WALLS Mrs. Anna R. Walls, 64, Canoe Creek, Box 538, Hollidaysburg RR 2, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 23, 1999, at Altoona Hospital, following an extended illness. She was born May 5, 1934, in Hollidaysburg, the daughter of the late Anthony Ward and Mary C. (Blackstone) Westover. She married Merle Bunny Walls Nov. 10, 1950, in Winchester, Va. Mrs. Walls was a member of Canoe Creek United Methodist Church and attended Juniata Valley Gospel Church, Hollidaysburg RR. She was a member of Scotch Valley Grange. Surviving are her husband; two daughters: Doris Dolly Resig of Duncansville and Laura Kitty Musser of Hagerstown, Md.; a son, Glen Ray of Canoe Creek; two sisters: Alma Watt of Ashville and Lula Snavely of Hollidaysburg RR3; two brothers: Irvin of East Freedom and Miles of Williamsburg RR; and six grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by two infant children, Shelby Jean and Merle Jr. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p. m. today and 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at Juniata Valley Gospel Church. Arrangements by Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg. WALLS - Funeral services for Anna R. Walls will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Juniata Valley Gospel Church by the Rev. Calvin Smith and the Rev. D. David McCaulley. Interment at New Canoe Creek Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. today and 1 p.m. until time of services Friday at Juniata Valley Gospel Church. Mrs. Walls was preceded in death by two sisters: Helen Ross, Viola Merritts. ________ RUBY S. WESTOVER Ruby S. Westover, 86, Beverly Healthcare-Hillview, formerly of Box 350, Hollidaysburg, RR3, died Sunday, April 11, 1999, at the center. She was born Oct. 21, 1912, in Westover, the daughter of the late Jonathan D. and Janetta J. (Stephens) Westover. Miss Westover was a member of Juniata Valley Gospel Church. She had worked as a housekeeper for several Hollidaysburg-area families. Miss Westover enjoyed sewing, cooking and flowers. She was a member of Frankstown Sportsmen's Association. Surviving is a sister, Vida Garman of Altoona. Arrangements by Plank, Stitt and Stevens Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg. WESTOVER - Memorial services for Ruby S. Westover of Beverly Healthcare- Hillview, formerly of Box 350, Hollidaysburg, RR 3, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Plank, Stitt and Stevens Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, by Pastor D. David McCaulley. Interment at Westover Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The family suggests donations be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society. 1837 E.
