WESTOVER, A well known and highly respected citizen of Hollidaysburg, died at his home on North Penn street this morning at 2:12 o'clock of paralysis. Deceased was born in Frankstown, August 2, 1837, and was the son of Edin Westover. In early life he followed the occupation of teamster, but at the completion of the new court house in 1876, was appointed janitor, a position which he faithfully filled until last August, when he was stricken with paralysis on the day following his sixty-ninth birthday. From that time on he was only at the court house at intervals until a few weeks ago when he was confined to his home and the final summons came at the above hour and he peacefully passed away. Mr. Westover was a consistent member of the Lutheran church and a true Christian gentleman in every way. He was a man of modest pretentions, but kind and considerate and always had a good word for every person with whom he came in contact. His friends were legion and enemies few. At home he was a faultless father, ever caring for the welfare of his loved ones. He is survived by two daughters - Mrs. Ullie Lindsay and Mrs. Charles Hileman, both of whom reside in Hollidaysburg; also by his venerable father, who is 91 years of age, one brother, Wilfield, of Frankstown, and three sisters, Mrs. William Rodkey and Mrs. Fred Gearhart of Altoona and Mrs. David Hemphill of Roanoke, Va. He was a member of the Odd Fellows' lodge and Portage lodge of Free and Accepted Masons. The funeral will take place on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Presbyterian cemetery. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., Thursday, April 4, 1907
