The cause of his death seems to have been general debility incident to old age, with kidney complications, The deceased was born in Darmstadt, Germany, March 21, 1816, and was consequently in his seventy-seventh year. He emigrated to this country some fifty-six years ago and settled at Petersburg, where he operated a broom factory. He remained in Petersburg till about 1876, when he removed with his family to Altoona, which has since been his home. He is survived by his aged wife and two daughters. The daughters are both married, one being the wife of David Koch and the other of J. W. Barnhart, of Sixth avenue and Fifth street. The funeral will take place on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
