All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ CALVIN JACOB WEYANT Well known Pennsylvania railroad retired trainman, died Wednesday evening at 6.30 o'clock at his home, 104 Fifth avenue, this city, death being attributed to a complication of ailments. He was a son of Jacob and Sophia Weyant, both now deceased, and was born at Claysburg on April 2, 1868. On Aug. 22, 1929, he was united in marriage with Miss Carrie Elizabeth Black, the ceremony being performed by Rev. Fred R. Greninger at the Temple Lutheran church. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. H. C. Graybill and Mrs. W. F. Burns, both of Altoona. He was educated in the Claysburg schools and early in life became a trainman for the Pennsylvania railroad and served in that capacity for forty- eight years and four months prior to retiring in 1937. He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical and Reformed church, Logan lodge No. 1059, I.O.O.F., the Fraternal Order of Eagles and of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Friends will be received at the home after 7 o'clock this evening. WEYANT - Funeral services for Calvin Jacob Weyant will be conducted at the home, 104 Fifth avenue, Altoona, Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock in charge of his pastor, Rev. Howard F. Boyer, assisted by Rev. John F. Hardt of the First Pentecostal church. Interment in the Greenwood cemetery. Friends will be received at the home after 7 o'clock this evening.
