All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _______________________________________________ BENJAMIN WHITE, Constable of the Seventh ward, died shortly after 2 o'clock this afternoon, at the home of his only living child, Joseph, 412 Howard avenue. Mr. White had been in ill health for some months past, and suffered considerably with rheumatism, which finally developed into dropsy, causing death. He was 57 years old. During the civil war he enlisted in the Union army and became a valiant soldier. He was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic. Deceased was a man of genial disposition and was popular as constable, which position he held for two terms. Besides his son, Joseph, he is survived by his aged father and several brothers.
