White of Juniata, a member of Company F, 103d U.S. Infantry, who was severely wounded while in action on July 18, died on July 24, according to information just received by friends in Juniata. Lieutenant White was located at Farmington, Me., when the war broke out. He volunteered, was commissioned on April 20, 1917, and helped to recruit the 2nd Maine regiment to war strength, going overseas on Sept. 8, 1917. The regiment first saw Soissons. About the middle of March he was ordered to advance headquarters, where for four months he was chief of mail service, censorship and motors. Lieutenant White was a son of the late Alonza and Anna Eliza Henderson White of Osceola Mills, was educated at Grove City college and the law school of Harvard. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. He was also a thirty-second degree Mason, being a member of the Osceola Mills lodge, and also affiliated with the Lodge of Perfection of Pittsburgh. He is survived by his widow, nee Miss Sarah Hart Ross of Wilkinsburg, and five brothers and one sister, William E. Miller of Altoona, Jacob A. Miller of Osceola Mills, Harry M., John K. and David H.
