White, died at her residence 1121 Seventh avenue at 12.30 o'clock yesterday morning, aged 62 years, 2 months and 4 days. She had been a great sufferer for many years from rheumatism, but her death was the result of a heavy cold contracted some three weeks ago and which terminated in acute bronchitis. The deceased, whose maiden name was Sophia Siard, was born in Canoe Valley, Huntingdon (now Blair) county, and was married in Williamsburg to Lorenzo E. White, January 30, 1851. She was the mother of eight children, of whom five preceded her to the grave and three survive to mourn with their father the loss of an affectionate mother and a faithful wife. They are J. Blair, who is married and resides in this city, and Martha and Mary Ellen, whose home is with their father. Mrs. White resided with her family in Williamsburg until 1863 when they removed to this city, where she remained until her death. She was a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal church for many years, and at the time of her death was a member of the Eighth Avenue church of that denomination. She was a good woman and her end was peace. The funeral will take place from her residence, 1121 Seventh avenue, at 2 o'clock to-morrow afternoon. Interment in Oak Ridge cemetery.
