William H. White, brother of Mrs. S. H. Stouffer and D. R. White, of Tyrone, 
died at the railroad hospital at Sacramento, California, on the 24th of May 
last.  He was a member of the 49th Penna. infantry regiment and served 
faithfully during several severe campaigns.  On January 19, 1865, he was shot 
through the right lung and still suffering from the wound was discharged June 
27, 1865. Lately an abscess formed on the lung and breaking resulted in his 
death.
